Astrid

She wasn't dying, but then she did. She took a bad turn, we rushed her to the pet hospital, and we got the call at 5am to say goodbye.

Gavin is heartbroken. Leif is still sleeping and doesn't know. She was the funniest, cleverest, most beloved young cat. It was probably neurological and not trauma after all, but for all the thousand dollars it took to try to save her, they never figured out what was wrong.

Navigating this bad thing today.

  1. I am so sorry. Half of you may think you wasted the money trying to find out what was wrong with her. But you and Gavin know that you did everything you could. May that be a comfort to you and especially to Gavin over time.

  2. Thank you. Yeah, you have to go into it full force, so you can sleep later. Now I know that they probably suspected it was a blood clot and that is why they didn't want to do an X-ray, and that they don't have the enzyme to treat it at that clinic. Even if we had gotten her to the better hospital, she would have been disabled and still probably died, and at least now I know which is the better vet, but ugh. Poor little kitty, it was a bad way to go.
